Thematic Networking Groups
Working with policy makers
Thematic Networking Groups (TNG’s) provide opportunities for policy makers and experts in all parts of education to benefit from the lessons learned through the Lifelong Learning Programme.
They provide a forum to discuss policy developments, share information and exchange best practice around a common subject of expertise. TNG’s bring together people who are passionate and knowledgeable about their subject areas, allowing them to work together to give recommendations for improvement.
The TNG’s are made up of four groups, each focusing on a specific theme:
Group 1: Transparency of qualifications and skills, including recognition of informal and non-formal learning
Group 2: Continuous training of learning professionals
Group 3: Meeting training and skills needs
Group 4: Working with under-represented groups
The four groups were established in early 2008. The group themes have been chosen to achieve a balance between UK national policy and the wider work being done at a European level.
